Wall hanging, Parker and Mimi, 2013

For the guild challenge quilt for this year, the theme was to depict a piece of music or song.  I used this, one of my favorite pictures of all time, of Mimi and Parker at Cape May, New Jersey.  These  little sweethearts holding hands, tensing for the wave to hit them.  These two absolutely loved to be tumbled by the waves.  I love how big brother is holding his sister's hand as they wait for the wave.  I made two quilts, trying two different techniques, one is dyes painted on fabric, the other is a colored pencil drawing, with the fabric sealer.  The song I thought of as I see this picture is Helen Reddy's "You and Me Against the World".
