Wall Hanging, Colors of Moab, 2007

I think this is the first quilt I made for the guild challenge, where we make small quilts that are then hung in the  Moab Museum during May and June.  The challenge theme was "colors of Moab".  I happened to have a postcard like this, someone standing in an arch with the white topped mountains behind.  I tried to make a representation of that picture with small squares in rust color, some with flowers.  I used regular white acrylic paint to paint the mountain tops on blue fabric.  The name of the quilt is "Red Rock, White Snow and Blue Skies of Moab".
