Throw Size, from "Marion" fabric 2014

I had seen this pattern on Pinterest and other places.  I thought it was so cool in the pictures.  So when I had all that fabric from Marion, I cut lots of strips to make this quilt.  Then when it was made, I decided I really don't like it all.  Maybe it's the colors.  Anyway, I gave it away and I hope whoever got it, likes it.

Throw Size for KIC 2014

I made these two split 9 patch quilts for KIC.  They are "Marion" quilts, made from the fabric from Marion from the guild.

Quiet Book for Jill's baby

Some more pages of the quiet book Val and I made for Jill's little girl.  I made the lion with the huge mane because I had this wonderful, wild colored yarn from project of  years ago.

Two baby Size Quilts 2014

 I had this small piece of material for the center and outlined it with small pieces of plain fabric for a large border.

This quilt was made from left over pieces of one of the slanted star quilts I made.  Too much good fabric to throw away.  I gave these two to the church for babies (I think)  Maybe they went to KIC.  Anyway, they are out of the house.

Baby Quilt for Vere's Sister's Grandbaby, 2014

Darleen brought this fabric for me to use to make the baby quilt.  Such cute fabric!!!  I was going to make the usual quilt pattern I've used so much for babies, but I found this one in a new magazine of mine.  It's hugs and kisses = the X's and O's.  The little wonky half square triangles came in handy again for the border,  Love this little quilt.

Quiet Book for Jill's baby 2014

 I asked Val if she'd be interested in making some quiet book pages for Jill's baby.  She said sure, and almost immediately her pages came in the mail.  I had some novelty fabric I cut out for a couple of the pictures, like the little girl with the big  yellow hat and the balloons, and the little girl with the green dress.  I also had the butterfly fabric, cut out the images and sewed the center, so the wings flap over the flowers.  This was a fun project.

Dream Catcher, wall hanging, 2014

This is one of my absolute favorite quilts.  It's a wall hanging for the museum challenge, the one where we make the quilts that are hung in the town museum.  The theme for this one was colors of Canyonlands.  I figured everyone would make something showing the rock formations, so I wanted something different.  I love dream catchers and I wanted to try this technique, which is a kind of reverse applique.  I used some "Marion" fabric, small pieces I found in the pile, and sewed them together to make a split 9 patch for the background.  Then I drew the dream catcher, with the bow n the top and feathers hanging down.  Then I basted the blue material to the back, sewed in around using the pattern I made.  Then cut away the orange fabric from the front which allowed the blue to show through.  I made the center of the dream catcher with embroidery thread.   It is machine quilted in a circle around the catcher.
