Crib size ;;in blue 2018

I had this very pretty fabric for the back, so I used some for the block in front plus lots of the blue I already have.  Blue is usually for boys, but some fabric here is flowery.  I'll just give it to the charity organization and let them do what they want.

2018, five picture albums

I started this project more than 6  years ago.  I went through all my pictures and pulled out the ones that I like the most, that represented a lot of the kid's lives.  I made copies of each picture, one for each book, so that each child got the same book.  I started out with store bought albums, filled it, and went on to fill a 3 ring binder with the rest of the pictures.  I covered the binders with fabric to make them more interesting.  Whew, that was a lot bigger job than I thought but it's done and I really like them.

2018 Crib Size, with Wonky Kittens

I had this piece of flannel fabric and just couldn't resist making a quilt from it.  The pieced side uses fabric with mostly similar colors.  Do you think a child will be able to sleep with this crazy little cat staring at them?  I hope so.

Hand pieced, Handquilted, Full size, 2018

My friend Laura, from quilt guild had this quilt top, hand pieced with vintage fabric, set up at the community center in town.  I went over to help hand quilt it, I spent one to every, at least, 20 hours she spent on it.  She finally finished it and it will be auctioned off, the money to go to Seekhaven, the women's center in town.

Two quilts from flannel made 5 feet square,

Someone gave me an overflowing container of flannel and said the town needed quilts for the emergency vehicles in town.  Give me a challenge!  I've spent more than a month, cutting and sewing and finished these two quilts.  I have 4 more tops that need to be quilted.  In that month I've also finished, finally, the scrapbooks I've made of my children's childhood pictures.  One book for each child.

Whew!!

Twin Size for Jill's little girl. April 2018

Vere is holding up the quilt for me.  This is my latest quilt, for Jill's little girl.  I've made pink flowered quilts for all my grand daughters.  Bruce's girls got "squares", "split 9-Patch".  Val's girl got one called "Tumblers".  This one is a "Square in a Square (in a square).  Lots of squares.  I put in 8 blocks with an embroidered "H" in them, as requested.  The quilter also quilted her whole name somewhere in the middle, it's hard to find in the busy front,  The back is a soft, pink flannel.

Twin sized for "H" and two panels for the town museum

This is the quilt I made for Jill's little girl.  She wanted an "H" on it so I embroidered 8 of them for square centers.  It's not quilted  yet, I'm giving it to the long armer to quilt it for me.

The quilt guild is challenged each year to make small quilts for display in the town museum.  It's the favorite display, I'm told.  I had this fabric of women sitting on a boardwalk, notice they are shaped like fruit.  I put the stripe fabric around them and wrote names of some of the famous shore points.

This second quilt was a panel I had which I hand quilted.  I call it "Stained Glass".
